A Busy Alaska Summer Transitions to Winter Outdoor Fun

As we mark the beginning of August, we are more than half way through Alaska’s 2021 summer travel season. This year, Alaska has seen one of the busiest summers ever, with most clients from the U.S. and with a heavy focus on land-based, non-cruise products.

With such high demand combined with many suppliers working hard to resume operations to respond, many Alaska tours and activities sold out early this year. Unfortunately, while Alaska tourism businesses and restaurants welcomed the recovery of the travel sector, they were also challenged with staffing and resource limitations. Car rental and RV rental companies have not been able to get cars from dealers and some hotels had to close sales for the entire season as early as June. But those lucky visitors who were able to book vacations and travel north have been really enjoying Alaska’s wonderful National Parks, stunning scenery, wildlife and far reaching wilderness.

With the Aurora season coming up, this is the perfect time to help your clients plan an Alaska winter adventure. Besides many different Aurora viewing packages, we offer a great selection of winter activities including dog sledding, snow machining and ice fishing. A ride on the Alaska Railroad is also special experience in the winter for guests who enjoy train travel. And travelers who want a more relaxing lodge-based getaway will love Chena Hot Springs Resort where they can book special Aurora viewing excursions, relax in the hot springs pool and visit the very unique Ice Museum in Alaska. And of course, we also offer several winter packages that combine a ride on the Alaska Railroad with Aurora Viewing opportunities.

Our wide variety of winter tours are perfect for those who love snow, quiet, pristine wilderness landscapes and active outdoor winter adventures. Check out our Arctic Circle Northern Lights Adventure, Chena Hot Springs Package and Aurora Train Travel in Winter Tour.

"Denali captured my soul. I'm not sure how to describe the vastness, the tundra, the wildlife, the rivers, the vistas, Denali itself which peeked out of the clouds for just a few minutes. It was a bucket list trip for us and our bucket overflowed! "
